It's springtime and what could be better than an unusual strawberry fruit salad? Here's a dessert that requires no special skills, ideal for a dinner for two!

The fresh fruit salad is a quick and easy dessert that often involves the presence of cream, especially if we use strawberries. In this case, the mouthwatering ingredient is Panettone Classico, which can also be substituted with Colomba or Loison’s classic Veneziana.
This really smart recipe was created by our friend David Perissinotto to reuse leftover panettone in the form of toasted croutons, an easy idea if you want to organize a romantic dinner at home!

The recipe
  •
  • Ingredients
  • 4 servings
  • 2 slices of Loison Classical Panettone about 1 cm thick
  • 500 g of strawberries
  • 200 g of sugar
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 bourbon vanilla stick
  • Icing sugar to taste

Directions
Cut the slices of panettone into cubes, place them in a baking dish well spread out, then bake them in a preheated oven at 90°C for about half an hour (if they are still soft, leave them as long as necessary).
In the meantime, wash the strawberries well, cut them into cubes and pour them into a saucepan with the sugar, vanilla pod and the juice of a lemon.
Cook until the liquid becomes syrupy. Then serve on a small plate or cup with the warm strawberries, place the panettone croutons on top and add a dusting of icing sugar.
If you wish, decorate with mint leaves.
Chef's advice
It would be a good idea to prepare the croutons the day before so that they dry well and remain crispy.
